Colombia: Job Trends in the Retailing Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Retailing sector of Colombia decreased by 1.36% MoM, and decreased by 17.01% since October 2023, reaching 1,308 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 68 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 66.17% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 86 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 75.43% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 90.57% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 82.38%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 54.48%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 6.02% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 43.93%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 280, number of jobs closed stood at 289 and number of active jobs stood at 1,421.
