Of the 115 deals, the deal secured between Mondelez International Inc and Clif Bar & Company, was the largest M&A deal in the Global Retail & Wholesale sector driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $2,900.0 million and was completed on June 20, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Authentic Brands Group LLC and Reebok International Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Uber Technologies Inc and Cornershop Global LLC. The Authentic Brands Group LLC-Reebok International Ltd deal and the Uber Technologies Inc-Cornershop Global LLC deal were valued at $2,500.0 million and $1,400.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Allegro.pl Sp Zoo-Mall Group a.s. valued at $1,020.9 million, whereas the deal between Sonic Automotive Inc-RFJ Auto Partners, Inc. valued at $950.2 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $8,771.06 million and accounted for nearly 37.46% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 51.96% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $12,165.2 million, which accounted for 29.82% of the total deal size on a global scale.
