North America: Five largest Debt Offering deals by value in the Retail & Wholesale sector (LTM June 2022)

A total of 94 Debt Offering deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Retail & Wholesale of the North America region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $60,131.9 million. In the LTM period, April 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $11,500.0 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,916.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of September 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 18 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $617.1 million during that month.
Of the 94 deals, the deal secured between Bank of America NA; Bank of the West; BMO Harris Bank NA; JPMorgan Chase Bank National Association; PNC Bank NA; Truist Bank; Wells Fargo Bank NA and Sprouts Farmers Markets Holdings, LLC, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the North America Retail & Wholesale sector, which was valued at $700.0 million and was completed on March 25, 2022. The second-largest deal was between MetLife Investment Management and Chesapeake Utilities Corp, while the third-largest deal was between Ault Global Holdings, Inc and Cosmos Holdings Inc. The MetLife Investment Management-Chesapeake Utilities Corp deal and the Ault Global Holdings, Inc-Cosmos Holdings Inc deal were valued at $50.0 million and $0.5 million, respectively.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $750.5 million and accounted for nearly 1.25% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 39.26% of the total Debt Offering deals done globally, and accounted for 1.05% of the total deal size on a global scale.
