Portugal: Job Trends in the Retailing Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Retailing sector of Portugal decreased by 9.38% MoM, and decreased by 21.89% since October 2023, reaching 1,131 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 236 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 105.22% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 353 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 98.31% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 26.93% and the number of jobs closed increased by 21.72%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.93%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 7.91% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 6.77%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 213, number of jobs closed stood at 284 and number of active jobs stood at 1,284.
