Australia: Job Trends in the Media Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Media sector of Australia increased by 10.65% MoM, and increased by 6.07% since October 2023, reaching 1,153 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 445 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 29.74% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 334 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 20.67% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted increased by 12.09% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 16.29%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a growth rate of 3.88%, the number of active job postings observed a growth rate of 1.98% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 5.76%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 424, number of jobs closed stood at 408 and number of active jobs stood at 1,100.
