A total of 60 Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Technology, Media and Telecom of Brazil, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $3,688.8 million. In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $710.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $101.4 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 7 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $8.6 million during that month.
Of the 60 deals, the deal secured between Magazine Luiza SA and KaBuM, was the largest M&A deal in the Brazil Technology, Media and Telecom sector, which was valued at $526.7 million and was completed on July 15, 2021. The second-largest deal was between SAS Shipping Agencies Services (CY) Ltd and Log-In Logística Intermodal S/A, while the third-largest deal was between B3 SA and Neoway Tecnologia Integrada Assessoria e Negocios SA. The SAS Shipping Agencies Services (CY) Ltd-Log-In Logística Intermodal S/A deal and the B3 SA-Neoway Tecnologia Integrada Assessoria e Negocios SA deal were valued at $344.3 million and $324.7 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between IHS Holding Ltd-Sao Paulo Cinco Locacao de Torres Ltda valued at $315.0 million, whereas the deal between Ebanx SA-Bee Tech Servicos de Tecnologia Ltda valued at $229.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,739.7 million and accounted for nearly 47.16% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
