On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 17 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $18.4 million during that month.
Of the 136 deals, the deal secured between Silver Lake Partners, L.P. and Software AG, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Internet of Things, which was valued at $389.0 million and was completed on December 13, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Summit Partners and Odoo SA, while the third-largest deal was between Coatue Management LLC; Dragoneer Investment Group LLC; EXOR NV; Index Ventures LLP; Lakestar Advisors GmbH; Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan; Ribbit Capital, L.P.; Teachers Venture Growth (TVG); Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd and Alan SA. The Summit Partners-Odoo SA deal and the Coatue Management LLC; Dragoneer Investment Group LLC; EXOR NV; Index Ventures LLP; Lakestar Advisors GmbH; Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan; Ribbit Capital, L.P.; Teachers Venture Growth (TVG); Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd-Alan SA deal were valued at $215.0 million and $193.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Accel Partners (India); Geolo Capital; Insight Partners; Prime Ventures; REWE Group; VentureFriends; Westcap Group LLC-Blueground Holdings Ltd; Commercetools GmbH valued at $140.0 million, whereas the deal between BMW i Ventures Inc; Telekom Innovation Pool GmbH; Thomas H. Lee Partners-KINEXON GmbH valued at $130.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,077.0 million and accounted for nearly 45.98% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 6.00% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 22.78% of the total deal size on a global scale.
