On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 36 deals being made, with average deal value of $262.1 million during that month.
Of the 190 deals, the deal secured between Block Inc and Afterpay Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the Global Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $29,000.0 million and was completed on August 1, 2021. The second-largest deal was between DoorDash Inc and Wolt Enterprises Oy, while the third-largest deal was between Dye & Durham Corporation and Link Administration Holdings Ltd. The DoorDash Inc-Wolt Enterprises Oy deal and the Dye & Durham Corporation-Link Administration Holdings Ltd deal were valued at $8,100.8 million and $2,829.3 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Authentic Brands Group LLC; Crocs Inc-Fratelli Diversi S.r.l; Reebok International Ltd valued at $2,500.0 million, whereas the deal between Shopify Inc-Deliverr Inc valued at $2,100.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $44,930.08 million and accounted for nearly 57.51% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Asia-Pacific accounted for 49.21% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $38,782.5 million, which accounted for 32.80% of the total deal size on a global scale.
