On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 21 deals being made, with average deal value of $25.5 million during that month.
Of the 152 deals, the deal secured between Thoma Bravo LP and Bottomline Technologies Inc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Global Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Industrial Automation, which was valued at $2,704.7 million and was completed on December 17, 2021. The second-largest deal was between TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC and Blue Prism Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between SoftBank Vision Fund LP and GM Cruise LLC. The TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC-Blue Prism Group Plc deal and the SoftBank Vision Fund LP-GM Cruise LLC deal were valued at $1,500.0 million and $1,350.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Bessemer Venture Partners; Istari Global; Rockwell Automation Inc; Schneider Electric SE; SoftBank Vision Fund II; Standard Investments; Team8-OTClaroty Ltd valued at $400.0 million, whereas the deal between Breakthrough Energy Ventures LLC; Captain Planet LP; JLL Spark; Monashee Investment Management, LLC; Suvretta Capital Management, LLC; The CPP Investment Board-Turntide Technologies valued at $225.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $6,179.69 million and accounted for nearly 60.57% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 69.39% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $7,109.6 million, which accounted for 52.60% of the total deal size on a global scale.
