Of the 49 deals, the deal secured between Authentic Brands Group LLC and Reebok International Ltd, was the largest M&A deal in the North America Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by ECommerce, which was valued at $2,500.0 million and was completed on August 12, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Shopify Inc and Deliverr Inc, while the third-largest deal was between Sonic Automotive Inc and RFJ Auto Partners, Inc.. The Shopify Inc-Deliverr Inc deal and the Sonic Automotive Inc-RFJ Auto Partners, Inc. deal were valued at $2,100.0 million and $950.2 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Generac Holdings Inc-Ecobee Inc valued at $770.0 million, whereas the deal between Plusgrade Parent LP-Points.com Inc. (Inactive) valued at $748.6 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $7,068.8 million and accounted for nearly 39.83% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 22.52% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 25.93% of the total deal size on a global scale.
