A total of 257 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Technology, Media and Telecom of the North America region, driven by Internet of Things, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $29,900.4 million. In the LTM period, January 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $17,255.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $1,015.0 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 30 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $54.4 million during that month.

The second-largest deal was between Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners X, L.P. and Splunk Inc, while the third-largest deal was between SoftBank Vision Fund LP and GM Cruise LLC. The Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners X, L.P.-Splunk Inc deal and the SoftBank Vision Fund LP-GM Cruise LLC deal were valued at $1,380.0 million and $1,350.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Bain Capital Private Equity LP; Cross Point Capital LLC-ExtraHop Networks Inc valued at $900.0 million, whereas the deal between BDT Capital Partners LLC; Davidson Kempner Capital Management LP; MSD Partners LP-Loanpal valued at $800.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $20,930.0 million and accounted for nearly 70.00% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 76.64% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 43.05% of the total deal size on a global scale.
