On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 64 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $30.5 million during that month.
Of the 604 deals, the deal secured between SoftBank Group Corp and Yanolja Co Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the South Korea Technology, Media and Telecom sector, which was valued at $1,700.0 million and was completed on July 15, 2021. The second-largest deal was between The Carlyle Group Inc. and Hyundai Glovis Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between MBK Partners Ltd and Koreacenter Co Ltd. The The Carlyle Group Inc.-Hyundai Glovis Co Ltd deal and the MBK Partners Ltd-Koreacenter Co Ltd deal were valued at $507.4 million and $413.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Alkeon Capital; Altos Ventures; Greyhound Capital Europe LLP; Korea Development Bank-Viva Republica Co Ltd valued at $410.0 million, whereas the deal between IMM Private Equity Inc; MBK Partners Ltd-MEGAZONE CLOUD Corp. valued at $332.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $3,362.4 million and accounted for nearly 26.46% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
