The number of active job postings in the Media sector of Canada increased by 1.33% MoM, and decreased by 11.99% since October 2023, reaching 1,372 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 387 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 12.17% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 369 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 44.09% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 17.48% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 23.92%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 6.21%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 4.17% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 8.71%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 483, number of jobs closed stood at 533 and number of active jobs stood at 1,488.
