Dassault Systemes’s gross value of intangible assets surged from EUR3,209.5 million in FY2020 to EUR3,435.7 million in FY2021, an increase of 7%. In FY2021, the company's net value of intangible assets was EUR3,462.5 million. Other intangible assets accounted for EUR179 million respectively, based on the company's calculation of the fair value of identified intangible assets. The company's amortization expense for intangible assets was EUR369 million in FY2021.

Dassault Systemes’ performance historically relies on a financial model with a strong focus on recurring software revenue, which represented over 77.7% of the total software revenue in FY2021. The company is developing and distributing a cloud offering (Software as a Service – SaaS) to grow and promote its portfolio of software solutions.
