Of the 2,811 deals, the deal secured between Thoma Bravo LP and Anaplan Inc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Global Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Digital Media, which was valued at $10,400.0 million and was completed on March 20, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Platinum Equity LLC and McGraw Hill Companies Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC and Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co. The Platinum Equity LLC-McGraw Hill Companies Ltd deal and the Veritas Capital Fund Management, LLC-Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Co deal were valued at $4,500.0 million and $3,162.5 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Kirkbi AS; Sony Group Corp; Thoma Bravo LP-Epic Games Inc; QAD Inc valued at $2,000.0 million, whereas the deal between Alden Global Capital-Lee Enterprises Inc valued at $1,891.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $22,062.49 million and accounted for nearly 17.23% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 61.55% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $77,940.6 million, which accounted for 42.92% of the total deal size on a global scale.
