The number of active job postings in the Technology and Communications sector of New Zealand decreased by 1.18% MoM, and decreased by 16.54% since October 2023, reaching 671 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 193 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 0.52% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 201 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 36.79% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 26.62% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 37.38%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 9.8%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.85% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 14.45%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 220, number of jobs closed stood at 268 and number of active jobs stood at 739.
