On the other hand, the month of June 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 16 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $12.5 million during that month.
Of the 120 deals, the deal secured between SoftBank Group Corp and Yanolja Co Ltd, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the South Korea Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Digital Media, which was valued at $1,700.0 million and was completed on July 15, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Praxis Capital Partners and Beyond Music, while the third-largest deal was between SoftBank Vision Fund 2 and Naver Z Corp.. The Praxis Capital Partners-Beyond Music deal and the SoftBank Vision Fund 2-Naver Z Corp. deal were valued at $170.0 million and $150.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Atinum Investment Co Ltd; GIC Pte Ltd; Korea Development Bank; NVESTOR Co., LTD-Ridi Corporation valued at $99.6 million, whereas the deal between Paratus Investment-VA Corporation valued at $81.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $2,200.6 million and accounted for nearly 66.38% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
