On the other hand, the month of March 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 13 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $114.6 million during that month.
Of the 88 deals, the deal secured between Schemaquarantatre SPA and Atlantia SpA, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, which was valued at $39,545.7 million and was completed on April 14, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Global Infrastructure Partners LLC and VTG Aktiengesellschaft - Parts of Rail Logistics Activities, while the third-largest deal was between Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec; DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA and ERMEWA Group SA. The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority; Global Infrastructure Partners LLC-VTG Aktiengesellschaft - Parts of Rail Logistics Activities deal and the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec; DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA-ERMEWA Group SA deal were valued at $5,382.4 million and $3,730.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between EQT AB; Mubadala Capital-Envirotainer AB valued at $2,999.8 million, whereas the deal between Swiss Life Asset Managers Limited; Vauban Infrastructure Partners-Aves One AG valued at $1,317.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $52,975.7 million and accounted for nearly 89.71% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 46.01% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 14.10% of the total deal size on a global scale.
