Of the 60 deals, the deal secured between Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd and Kansas City Southern, was the largest M&A deal in the North America Transportation, Infrastructure and Logistics sector, which was valued at $31,000.0 million and was completed on September 15, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Sundown Acquisition Corp. and Spirit Airlines Inc, while the third-largest deal was between Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd; TLP Holdings LLC and TransCore Partners LLC. The Sundown Acquisition Corp.-Spirit Airlines Inc deal and the Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd; TLP Holdings LLC-TransCore Partners LLC deal were valued at $7,121.5 million and $2,680.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between CMA CGM SA-Fenix Marine Services Ltd valued at $2,300.0 million, whereas the deal between Uber Freight Holding Corporation-Transplace GP LLC valued at $2,200.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $45,301.5 million and accounted for nearly 67.95% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The North America region accounted for 55.40% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 12.41% of the total deal size on a global scale.
