The number of active job postings in the Leisure and Arts sector of Canada decreased by 0.46% MoM, and decreased by 22.88% since October 2023, reaching 7,842 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,064 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 41.3% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 1,100 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 32.97% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 56.85% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 60.5%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 24.44%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 8.3% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 26.63%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,473, number of jobs closed stood at 2,134 and number of active jobs stood at 8,663.
