A total of 128 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Travel and Tourism of the Europe region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $19,313.0 million. In the LTM period, March 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $6,544.3 million, resulting in an average deal value of $727.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of June 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 17 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $86.1 million during that month.
Of the 128 deals, the deal secured between Clearlake Capital Group, L.P.; Hansjoerg Wyss; Mark Walter; Todd Boehly and Chelsea FC PLC, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Travel and Tourism sector, which was valued at $5,246.0 million and was completed on March 2, 2022. The second-largest deal was between RedBird Capital Partners LLC and Associazione Calcio Milan s.p.a, while the third-largest deal was between DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA; Inframobility UK Bidco Ltd and Stagecoach Group Plc. The RedBird Capital Partners LLC-Associazione Calcio Milan s.p.a deal and the DWS Group GmbH & Co KgaA; Inframobility UK Bidco Ltd-Stagecoach Group Plc deal were valued at $1,287.8 million and $1,118.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Ride BidCo AB-Nobina AB valued at $1,029.2 million, whereas the deal between APG Asset Management NV; GIC Pte Ltd; KRC Capital-CitizenM Operations Holding BV valued at $1,000.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $9,681.6 million and accounted for nearly 50.13% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 23.82% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 12.62% of the total deal size on a global scale.
