The number of active job postings in the Travel & Tourism (Travel Services) sector of Malaysia decreased by 15.63% MoM, and decreased by 8.29% since October 2023, reaching 1,371 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 587 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 14.42% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 841 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 126.68% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted increased by 4.82% and the number of jobs closed increased by 73.05%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a growth rate of 1.58%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 2.84% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 20.06%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 548, number of jobs closed stood at 560 and number of active jobs stood at 1,493.
