LONDON, 21 July 2026 – GlobalData Plc, the leading intelligence and productivity platform, today announced the adoption of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) across its data and AI products. The move lets enterprise AI systems and agents connect to GlobalData’s proprietary intelligence through secure, governed integrations, taking GlobalData from a platform you visit to intelligence embedded where decisions are made.
Why now
The way organizations consume intelligence is changing. Users want to ask questions inside the AI tools they already use, not log into a separate platform. Data teams want structured outputs they can model, not just packaged content. And leaders want intelligence inside their CRMs, copilots and agents – where decisions happen.
GlobalData is well placed for this shift. Its intelligence is proprietary and curated by domain experts, built on taxonomies with consistent identifiers. That lets clients connect insight across domains without manual cleaning or matching.

A universal adapter for AI
MCP is an open standard that works like a universal adapter for AI applications. Through it, clients reach GlobalData intelligence from the tools they already use (often with no technical integration) by asking questions in natural language and receiving structured, traceable answers.
The MCP launch is the latest addition to GlobalData’s Direct Data Solutions: its approach to delivering intelligence into clients’ own systems rather than via a separate platform. Clients can already receive structured GlobalData datasets directly in their data warehouses, BI tools, and applications. MCP extends the same principle to AI: rather than moving data, clients can query it live and in context, from the AI tools they already use.
Security and governance are central to GlobalData’s MCP architecture. Every interaction is authenticated and governed through entitlement controls, ensuring users and AI agents can only access the datasets they are authorized to use. Every transaction is logged and auditable, with policy-driven controls that let organizations apply enterprise guardrails around AI access
GlobalData is launching two MCP offerings:
Data MCP gives client AI systems authenticated, entitlement-based access to GlobalData’s 260+ proprietary databases with minimal engineering. It supports natural-language queries with structured output, cross-domain correlation, and a cited, traceable data supply chain — cutting time to first insight from weeks to minutes.
Ava MCP extends Ava, GlobalData’s AI research analyst, beyond the platform. Enterprises can embed Ava’s query layer into their own copilots, agents and AI platforms via a REST API or an MCP server. Every answer arrives with its sources and a full audit trail, matching the experience users get on the platform. The first demonstration of this is the company’s launch of Ava within Microsoft 365 Copilot, enabling users of both Copilot and GlobalData to benefit from integrated, streamlined enterprise workflows.
