Malaysia Baby Food Market Trends
Primarily, breastfeeding training programs have been initiated in Malaysia and the number of women’s support groups has increased. These have helped to teach mothers how best to breastfeed and encouraged them to maintain breastfeeding without commercial baby milk until at least six months and as a supplement until two years.
The Health Ministry’s National Plan of Action for Nutrition of Malaysia set a target of 100% breastfeeding initiation within one hour of birth and 70% of babies to be exclusively breastfed up to the age of six months by 2025. Owing to this, the Ministry will collaborate with Malaysia’s School of Medical Sciences and the World Alliance of Breastfeeding Action to create awareness about breastfeeding practices.
