Currently, GlobalData is tracking a pipeline of leisure and hospitality buildings projects with a total value of $1.8 trillion. This comprises of hotel and resorts projects, in addition to mixed-use developments that include a significant component of leisure and hospitality. The pipeline comprises of projects with the hotel and resorts projects accounting for the larger portion of the pipeline by value, at $961.1 billion, while the mixed-use and other developments have a combined value of $878 billion. The global pipeline is dominated by projects in the late stages of development, with 73.9% of projects being in the pre-execution and execution phases – these amount to $1.4 trillion in total value. Of this amount, $942.3 billion is in the execution stage, and $417 billion is in the pre-execution stage. Projects in the early stages account for a relatively small share, with 26.1% of the pipeline by value, reflecting projects in the pre-planning stage and planning stages.
