Hot weather in Portugal, being warmer than average temperature along with rise in the tourist level by 7% from 2014 in 2015 and rise in consumer confidence based on a steady GDP level, contributed to the building of both value and volume of beer and boosted the on-premise consumption. The year saw a decrease in the volume of imported beer by just 1%, whilst volumes for domestic brands continued with the declining trend. The volumes of beer exported from Portugal to international countries significantly contracted by 32% in 2015, mainly driven by the economic downturn of Angola due to falling oil prices
