About this Webinar
Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is set to play a key role in all the assessed pathways to reach net-zero scenarios by 2050. This technology will be crucial in netting emissions in sectors where complete reduction of emissions will not be possible, such as heavy industry activities. However, currently the carbon captured emissions don't amount to more than 0.2% of total CO2 energy related emissions. In the last years there has been a clear increase in the investment for new CCS facilities that can double current capacity, but it is estimated that to support net-zero scenarios the current capacity of 40 million tons needs to increase by at least 150 times. In any case, developing technology conducive to better economics of CCS projects, and aligning government policies with industry's investment plans for additional capacity will continue to be crucial for CCS to significantly increase.
Please join GlobalData's Webinar on Carbon Capture and Storage Role (CCS) in Energy Transition for analysis on the following subjects:
CCS contribution in reducing emissions to reach net-zero targets vs extending the use of fossil fuels
New planned worldwide investment and capacity in CCS
Economics of CCS for different sectors
Role of CCS in increasing the capacity of blue hydrogen production
CCS related transportation and storage challenges and opportunities
Policies supporting the development of CCS capacity
