David Bicknell
David has over 30 years’ experience in writing about and analyzing the technology sector, both from the vendor and the user perspective in the UK and the US. His career in technology journalism and analysis has included detailed research into IT projects and he has co-authored a book, ‘Crash’, which explored why and how IT projects go wrong. He has also co-authored a novel on the life of computer pioneer Charles Babbage. Prior to joining Thematic Research, David spent six years editing a GlobalData title exploring the use of technology in the UK public sector. He has previously worked for a news agency and for the BBC.
Amy DeCarlo
Rajesh Muru
Rajesh Muru heads up the Enterprise Cybersecurity Vendor research for GlobalData. Within Enterprise Cybersecurity, Rajesh covers key trends in stand along technology products and vendor strategies. Rajesh also covers Managed Security Services as a secondary. His work in cybersecurity stems across enterprise networks, including software defined networking and cloud based delivery models. Rajesh's work also covers the impact of these technology areas in key end user segments, and business drivers for change., covering comms/IT, retail, finance, manufacturing and government. His work covers both syndicated research as well custom consulting advisory. Rajesh's career spans over 33 years. Previously, he held a number of senior roles in strategic advisory, as well as end user enterprises. This stemmed across numerous strategy houses including Gartner Consulting, where Rajesh headed the Strategy Consulting practice in the UK for 11 years plus and delivered global assignments and managing a European team. His experience within industry covers heading the product marketing for a communication systems product line for an global Industrial Computer systems manufacturer. Rajesh initially started his career as a Systems Design Engineer for Racal Defence.
Charl van der Walt
Charl van der Walt is Head of Security Research for Orange Cyberdefense, where he now leads a specialist security research unit that identifies, tracks, analyzes & communicates significant developments in the security landscape that may impact customers. Previously Charl was a co-founder of SensePost – a penetration testing company that has made a mark on the industry globally for two decades now. Charl and his team are globally recognized and frequently showcased at international security events such as Black Hat, RSA & BSides. Orange’s access to authentic security data as an operator, and their deep focus on intelligence and research, place Charl in a unique position to understand and comment on the fundamental dynamics of the security landscape.
Tris Morgan
Tris Morgan provides strategic direction and thought leadership on all matters of digital security to both large and small customers.
Tris Morgan has over 17 years’ experience in security, working across industry, global governments, and academic institutions in the advancement of ground-breaking security capability.
In his latest role leading BT’s security consulting business, Tris Morgan and his team provide strategic security direction to both large and small customers, police forces and global governments. The consulting unit helps organisations at all stages of their security journey to assess and test their defences, understand the latest threats and trends, and select the solutions that match their security needs.
Tris Morgan has had a varied career working with start-up companies in Silicon Valley and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) to bring in new technologies into BT. Prior to this, Tris Morgan led BT’s security portfolio and strategy team for government accounts and has held several senior technical roles.
He graduated with a BSC (Hons) in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence.
Stephen Burke
Stephen Burke, Founder and CEO, Cyber Risk Aware, is a former CISO in the insurance sector and a specialist on the human factor in cybersecurity. Stephen is the founder and CEO, Cyber Risk Aware and SafeTitan (SAT) Product Director at TitanHQ (www.titanhq.com).
