In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $364.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $52.1 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of October 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 13 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $24.1 million during that month.
Of the 83 deals, the deal secured between Atomico Ventures LP; Bonnier Growth Media AB; Hanaco Ventures Capital Ltd; Lightrock LLP; Qatar Investment Authority and Indoor Urban Farming GmbH, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Europe Agriculture & Forestry sector, which was valued at $200.0 million and was completed on December 16, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Bonum Capital Ltd and Segezha Group, while the third-largest deal was between Generate Capital Inc and GrowUp Farms Limited. The Bonum Capital Ltd-Segezha Group deal and the Generate Capital Inc-GrowUp Farms Limited deal were valued at $150.0 million and $134.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Proa Capital de Inversiones SGEIC, SA-Patatas Hijolusa valued at $118.2 million, whereas the deal between Corporacion Financiera Alba SA-Profand Fishing Holding SL valued at $118.1 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $720.4 million and accounted for nearly 43.37% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 25.16% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 13.92% of the total deal size on a global scale.
