The number of active job postings in the Business and Consumer Services sector of the Middle East and Africa region increased by 4.52% MoM, and decreased by 1.6% since October 2023, reaching 4,115 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 1,233 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 6.02% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 1,055 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 28.72% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 3.52% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 22.25%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 1.19%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 0.54% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 8.05%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 1,256, number of jobs closed stood at 1,293 and number of active jobs stood at 4,122.
