Canada: Job Trends in the Financial Services Sector (October 2023 - January 2024)

The number of active job postings in the Financial Services sector of Canada decreased by 1.48% MoM, and decreased by 3.43% since October 2023, reaching 14,073 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 5,877 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 16.03% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 6,088 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 7.94% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted increased by 13.72% and the number of jobs closed increased by 5.88%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a growth rate of 4.38%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 1.16% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 1.92%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 5,593, number of jobs closed stood at 5,863 and number of active jobs stood at 14,447.
