The number of active ESG related job postings in the Banking and Payments sector of Hong Kong decreased by 13.3% MoM, and decreased by 1.21% since October 2023, reaching 489 active job postings in January 2024
A total of 177 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 9.23% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 252 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 14.55% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted increased by 7.93% and the number of ESG related jobs closed increased by 23.53%.
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a growth rate of 2.58%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 0.41% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a growth rate of 7.3%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of ESG related jobs posted stood at 205, number of ESG related jobs closed stood at 217 and number of active ESG related jobs stood at 534.
