In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $745.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $372.8 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 3 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $36.7 million during that month.
Of the 19 deals, the deal secured between Kia Corp and Hyundai Capital Services Inc, was the largest M&A deal in the South Korea Financial Services sector, which was valued at $741.4 million and was completed on December 9, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Cowell Fashion Co., Ltd. and CF Investment Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between SK Square Co Ltd and Korbit Inc. The Cowell Fashion Co., Ltd.-CF Investment Co Ltd deal and the SK Square Co Ltd-Korbit Inc deal were valued at $161.5 million and $75.6 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Hyundai Commercial Co., Ltd.-Hyundai Card Co Ltd valued at $74.4 million, whereas the deal between HB Holdings-Charm Savings Bank Co., Ltd. valued at $62.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $1,115.2 million and accounted for nearly 55.36% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
