In the LTM period, May 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $52,891.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $7,555.9 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of September 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 8 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $30.9 million during that month.
Of the 49 deals, the deal secured between Shiprocket and Pickrr Technologies Pvt., Ltd., was the largest M&A deal in the Asia-Pacific driven by Artificial Intelligence, which was valued at $200.0 million and was completed on June 15, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Philips (China) Investment Co Ltd and Hangzhou B-Soft Co Ltd, while the third-largest deal was between Ample Chaser Limited and Beijing Baiyou Technology Co., Ltd.. The Philips (China) Investment Co Ltd-Hangzhou B-Soft Co Ltd deal and the Ample Chaser Limited-Beijing Baiyou Technology Co., Ltd. deal were valued at $180.0 million and $167.2 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between GMO Internet Inc-Ierae Security, Inc. valued at $81.4 million, whereas the deal between SBI Financial Services Co., Ltd.-ALBERT Inc valued at $68.7 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $697.3 million and accounted for nearly 1.29% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 61.55% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 28.49% of the total deal size on a global scale.
