On the other hand, the month of July 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 30 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $415.1 million during that month.
Of the 271 deals, the deal secured between Broadcom Inc and VMware Inc, was the world's largest M&A deal driven by Cloud, which was valued at $69,000.0 million and was completed on May 26, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Oracle Corp and Cerner Corp, while the third-largest deal was between Kaseya Ltd and Datto, Inc.. The Oracle Corp-Cerner Corp deal and the Kaseya Ltd-Datto, Inc. deal were valued at $29,600.0 million and $6,200.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Google LLC-Mandiant Inc valued at $5,400.0 million, whereas the deal between Xavier Niel-Iliad SA valued at $3,700.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $113,900.0 million and accounted for nearly 48.02% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 68.05% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $161,332.5 million, which accounted for 42.44% of the total deal size on a global scale.
