On the other hand, the month of August 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 6 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $402.5 million during that month.
Of the 37 deals, the deal secured between Emirates Telecommunications Group Co PJSC and Vodafone Group Plc, was the world's largest M&A deal driven by Connectivity, which was valued at $4,400.0 million and was completed on May 14, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Altice UK Sarl and BT Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Deutsche Telekom AG and SoftBank Group Corp; T-Mobile US Inc. The Altice UK Sarl-BT Group Plc deal and the Deutsche Telekom AG-SoftBank Group Corp; T-Mobile US Inc deal were valued at $3,111.6 million and $2,400.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Sinch AB-Message4U Pty Limited valued at $1,300.0 million, whereas the deal between PT Sarana Menara Nusantara Tbk-PT. Solusi Tunas Pratama Tbk valued at $1,171.1 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $12,382.7 million and accounted for nearly 58.27% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, Europe accounted for 40.69% of the total M&A deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $8,797.3 million, which accounted for 25.71% of the total deal size on a global scale.
