A total of 1,224 Private Equity/Venture Financing deals (pending and completed) were announced in the Middle East and Africa region, in the last twelve months resulting in a total deal value of over $50,700.7 million. In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $17,740.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $213.7 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of November 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 138 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $35.2 million during that month.
Of the 1,224 deals, the deal secured between BlackRock Inc; China Merchants Capital Investment Co., Ltd.; Hassana Investment Company; Keppel Infrastructure Fund Management Pte Ltd (Trustee-Manager of Keppel Infrastructure Trust); Silk Road Fund Co Ltd and Aramco Gas Pipelines Co, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Middle East and Africa region, which was valued at $15,500.0 million and was completed on December 6, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Blackstone Inc and VFS Global, while the third-largest deal was between Apollo Global Management Inc and Aldar Properties. The Blackstone Inc-VFS Global deal and the Apollo Global Management Inc-Aldar Properties deal were valued at $1,870.0 million and $1,400.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between ADQ-Commercial International Bank (Egypt) SAE valued at $911.5 million, whereas the deal between Brookfield Business Partners LP-Magnati Payment Solutions valued at $690.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $20,371.5 million and accounted for nearly 40.18% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Middle East and Africa region accounted for 2.89% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and accounted for 4.13% of the total deal size on a global scale.
