The number of active job postings in the Middle East and Africa region decreased by 8.74% MoM, and decreased by 14.52% since October 2023, reaching 48,759 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 18,079 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 2.76% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 22,746 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 11.3% more jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 19.6% and the number of jobs closed increased by 8.18%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 7.01%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 5.09% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 2.66%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 20,112, number of jobs closed stood at 21,818 and number of active jobs stood at 53,873.
