Multinational Companies with Exposure to Ukraine

  • More than 300 MNCs have at least one subsidiary in Ukraine and nearly a quarter of them have their headquarters in the US
  • Of the MNC subsidiaries in Ukraine, 17% are from the technology and communications industry
  • Bunge, a US-based company, operates 10 subsidiaries in Ukraine

The technology and communications industry accounts for 17% of the MNC subsidiaries in Ukraine. The consumer-packaged goods sector accounts for 13% of MNCs based in Ukraine, and 9% of the MNC subsidiaries are from the industrial goods and machinery sector. The majority of the subsidiaries in Ukraine belong to the other category.

Just over 300 MNCs have at least one subsidiary in Ukraine, and about a quarter (27%) of them are headquartered in the US. Over half (57%) of them are based in western Europe.

 

Bunge

Bunge Ltd (Bunge) is a US-based agribusiness and food company that operates 10 subsidiaries in Ukraine. The company purchases, stores, transports, and sells food and ingredients, edible oils, milling products, and fertilizers. Its product portfolio includes oil seeds, vegetable oils, protein meals, packaged and bulk oils, shortenings, margarine, and mayonnaise.

Scatec

Scatec ASA (Scatec) operates 10 subsidiaries in Ukraine. Scatec is a Norway-based integrated independent solar power producer that develops, builds, owns, and operates solar power plants. The company provides a host of services, including project origination and development, project financing, design and engineering, procurement and construction management, operation and maintenance, and asset management.

Raiffeisen Bank International AG

Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) operates nine subsidiaries in Ukraine. The company, based in Austria, offers retail, corporate, and investment banking, and leasing and asset management services. It also operates as the central institution for the regional Raiffeisen banks. The group provides financing and factoring solutions; investment solutions such as funds, bonds, securities, and certificates; leasing for vehicles, real estate, aircraft, and equipment; hedging solutions for currency and interest; and funds services, cash management, trade and export finance, securities services, and card products.

Inditex

Inditex has eight subsidiaries in Ukraine. The company is based in Spain and is an in-store and online retailer that designs, distributes, and retails apparel for men, women, and children. Its product portfolio includes clothing and leather garments and apparel such as designs and fabrics, lingerie, sweatshirts, T-shirts, jeans, and sports clothing.
