Poland Exports: Overview 

Nuclear reactors, boilers, and machinery exports accounted for an increased share of total exports in 2020, up from 13.1% in 2016 to 13.37%. This sector accounted for the highest share of Poland’s entire export basket as of 2020. In 2020, Poland accounted for 1.7% of total world exports of nuclear reactors, boilers, and machinery. The total export value of vehicles accounted for a 9.7% share of Poland’s export basket in 2020, a decline from 12.2% in 2016.

In 2020, Poland recorded an increase in overall commodity exports by 0.91% compared to 2019. However, the top five export commodities growth fell by 1.4% in 2020 compared to 2019. 

Germany, Italy, France, and the Netherlands were Poland’s top four trading partners in 2020; they accounted for 38.6% of total trade (exports and imports).

Exports as a % of GDP of Poland was 52.5% in 2021, decreased by 4.0% year on year basis in 2021, and between 2010-2021, the exports as a % of GDP in Poland increased by 29.2%. The indicator was highest in the year 2018 (56.7%), and lowest in the year 2010 (40.7%).
