In the LTM period, January 2022 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $9,696.1 million, resulting in an average deal value of $421.6 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of September 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 25 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $232.7 million during that month.
Of the 188 deals, the deal secured between CAF Development Bank Of Latin America and Government Of Colombia, was the largest Debt Offering deal in the South and Central America region, which was valued at $600.0 million and was completed on March 8, 2022. The second-largest deal was between Inter-American Development Bank; The World Bank Group and Government Of Argentina; Government of Bolivia; Government Of Colombia; Government Of Peru, while the third-largest deal was between U.S. International Development Finance Corp and Banco BTG Pactual SA. The Inter-American Development Bank; The World Bank Group-Government Of Argentina; Government of Bolivia; Government Of Colombia; Government Of Peru deal and the U.S. International Development Finance Corp-Banco BTG Pactual SA deal were valued at $500.0 million and $300.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Credit Agricole CIB SA-Concesionaria Vial Union del Sur SAS valued at $276.5 million, whereas the deal between Banco Santander SA; Cargill Financial Services International, Inc.; ICBC Dubai; Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd; Itau Unibanco S.A.-YPF SA valued at $262.5 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $2,600.0 million and accounted for nearly 4.88% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The South and Central America region accounted for 2.80% of the total Debt Offering deals done globally, and accounted for 3.20% of the total deal size on a global scale.
