Khouribga Mine in Chaouen, was the largest mine in Morocco, producing approximately 22.45 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) in 2021. The Khouribga Mine is owned by OCP SA. The second largest mine with approximately 5.95 mmtpa of ROM, was the Benguerir Mine located in Marrakech. The Benguerir Mine is owned by OCP SA.
Mzinda Phosphate Mine located in Marrakech was the third-largest mine, the Youssoufia Mine located in Marrakech was the fourth-largest mine, and the Hajar Mine located in Marrakech was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 3.05 mmtpa, 2.83 mmtpa and 2.27 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. The Mzinda Phosphate Mine is owned by OCP SA, the Youssoufia Mine is owned by OCP SA and the Hajar Mine is owned by Managem Group SA.
The five largest mines, i.e., Khouribga Mine, Benguerir Mine, Mzinda Phosphate Mine, Youssoufia Mine, and Hajar Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 36.56 mmtpa of ROM in 2021
