Hajar Mine in Marrakech, was the largest underground mine in Morocco, producing approximately 2.27 million metric tons per annum (mmtpa) of Run-of-Mine (ROM) and primarily produced zinc (142.9 thousand tonnes) in 2021. The Hajar Mine is owned by Managem Group SA. The second largest underground mine with an estimated 1.77 mmtpa of ROM and primarily producing zinc (5,986.49 thousand ounces), was the Imiter Project located in Souss-Massa-Draa. The Imiter Project is owned by Managem Group SA, and is due to operate until 2030.
Douar Hajar Mine located in Marrakech was the third-largest mine, the Oumjrane Project located in Er Rachidia was the fourth-largest mine, and the Draa Sfar Mine located in Marrakech was the fifth-largest mine, with an estimated ROM production of 1.71 mmtpa, 0.97 mmtpa and 0.84 mmtpa, respectively, in 2021. Primarily, the Douar Hajar Mine produced approximately 107.69 thousand tonnes of zinc, the Oumjrane Project produced approximately 22.53 thousand tonnes of copper, and the Draa Sfar Mine produced approximately 37.81 thousand tonnes of zinc in the year 2021. The Douar Hajar Mine is owned by Managem Group SA;Bureau de recherches et de Participations Minieres, the Oumjrane Project is owned by Managem Group SA and the Draa Sfar Mine is owned by Managem Group SA.
The five largest underground mines, i.e., Hajar Mine, Imiter Project, Douar Hajar Mine, Oumjrane Project, and Draa Sfar Mine, cumulatively produced approximately 7.56 mmtpa of ROM in 2021.
