The number of active job postings in the Global Wholesale Sector decreased by 8.94% MoM, and decreased by 20.81% since October 2023, reaching 9,838 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 3,540 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 33.53% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 4,506 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 30.58% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 54.01% and the number of jobs closed decreased by 45.4%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 22.81%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 7.48% and the number of jobs closed observed a negative growth rate of 18.27%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 5,967, number of jobs closed stood at 6,752 and number of active jobs stood at 11,258.
