The number of active job postings in the Retailing sector of United States decreased by 9.36% MoM, and decreased by 31.47% since October 2023, reaching 368,300 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 127,676 new jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing an increase of 1.68% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 165,728 jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 18.14% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new jobs posted decreased by 17.2% and the number of jobs closed increased by 0.51%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 6.1%, the number of active job postings observed a negative growth rate of 11.83% and the number of jobs closed observed a growth rate of 0.17%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of jobs posted stood at 142,699, number of jobs closed stood at 187,647 and number of active jobs stood at 448,822.
