In the LTM period, July 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $5,498.7 million, resulting in an average deal value of $916.5 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of May 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 9 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $53.5 million during that month.
Of the 64 deals, the deal secured between Xavier Niel and Iliad SA, was the largest M&A deal in the Europe Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Cloud, which was valued at $3,700.0 million and was completed on July 30, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Pluralsight LLC and A Cloud Guru, Ltd., while the third-largest deal was between Bolt Bidco Limited and Blue Prism Group Plc. The Pluralsight LLC-A Cloud Guru, Ltd. deal and the Bolt Bidco Limited-Blue Prism Group Plc deal were valued at $2,000.0 million and $1,700.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Marlowe plc-Restore PLC valued at $1,014.6 million, whereas the deal between Siemens AG-Sqills valued at $651.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $9,065.6 million and accounted for nearly 70.37% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. The Europe region accounted for 5.46% of the total M&A deals done globally, and accounted for 24.06% of the total deal size on a global scale.
