In the LTM period, December 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $317.0 million, resulting in an average deal value of $127.2 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of January 2022 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 57 deals being made, with average deal value of $41.7 million during that month.
Of the 570 deals, the deal secured between Thoma Bravo LP and Bottomline Technologies Inc, was the largest Private Equity/Venture Financing deal in the Global Technology, Media and Telecom sector driven by Future of Work, which was valued at $2,704.7 million and was completed on December 17, 2021. The second-largest deal was between TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC and Blue Prism Group Plc, while the third-largest deal was between Wise Road Capital, LTD. and GAPT Holding Limited. The TPG Capital LP; Vista Equity Partners Management LLC-Blue Prism Group Plc deal and the Wise Road Capital, LTD.-GAPT Holding Limited deal were valued at $1,500.0 million and $1,460.0 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between SoftBank Vision Fund LP-GM Cruise LLC valued at $1,350.0 million, whereas the deal between Arena Holdings; Durable Capital Partners LP; Franklin Templeton Investments Corp; Splunk Ventures; T Rowe Price Associates Inc-Celonis GmbH valued at $1,000.0 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $8,014.69 million and accounted for nearly 25.72% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months. By region, North America accounted for 66.03% of the total Private Equity/Venture Financing deals done globally, and recorded a total deal value of $20,596.7 million, which accounted for 60.70% of the total deal size on a global scale.
