A key factor in the high viewing figures of the US Open 2023 was the recent news that the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia are joining forces, putting an end to the two parties’ long conflict over the last few years.

In the US, NBC took over the rights to showcase the US Open from Fox after the latter’s 12-year rights deal with the United States Golf Association (USGA) came to an end. NBC’s deal will continue until the completion of the 2026 tournament. The viewing figures for the 2023 tournament that was held at the Los Angeles Country Club averaged the highest for four years. The entire event averaged a total audience of more than 3 million viewers on NBC, Peacock, and USA Network, which is the best audience figures since the 2019 US Open.

The US Open’s biggest annual sponsorship deal was from the financial services corporation American Express which extends to over a one-year period.

The second most annually lucrative sponsorship deal which the tournament had was from the automotive company Lexus.
