In the LTM period, September 2021 turned out to be the most prolific in terms of deal size, with a total deal value of $23,191.6 million, resulting in an average deal value of $3,865.3 million during that month. On the other hand, the month of December 2021 was the most prolific in terms of deal volume, recording a total of 14 deals, resulting in an average deal value of $392.8 million during that month.
Of the 124 deals, the deal secured between DraftKings Inc and Entain PLC, was the largest M&A deal in the United Kingdom Financial Services sector, which was valued at $21,551.4 million and was completed on September 21, 2021. The second-largest deal was between Barclays Bank UK PLC and Kensington Mortgages Company Ltd., while the third-largest deal was between RBC Wealth Management and Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC. The Barclays Bank UK PLC-Kensington Mortgages Company Ltd. deal and the RBC Wealth Management-Brewin Dolphin Holdings PLC deal were valued at $2,815.4 million and $2,083.1 million, respectively. The fourth-largest deal was between Apex Acquisition Company Limited-Sanne Group plc valued at $2,072.1 million, whereas the deal between Abrdn plc-Interactive Investor Services Ltd valued at $1,971.3 million was the fifth-largest deal.
Cumulatively, the top five deals amounted to $30,493.3 million and accounted for nearly 64.64% of the total deals (by value) announced during the last twelve months.
