The number of active ESG related job postings in Hong Kong driven by ESG decreased by 16% MoM, and decreased by 20.21% since October 2023, reaching 2,258 active job postings in January 2024.
A total of 740 new ESG related jobs were posted in January 2024, witnessing a decrease of 15.14% as compared to the previous month. On the other hand, 1,170 ESG related jobs were closed in the same month implying that companies took out 4.02% fewer jobs than the month earlier. For the period from October 2023 to January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted decreased by 7.73% and the number of ESG related jobs closed increased by 33.41%
In terms of Compound Monthly Growth Rate (CMGR) between October 2023 and January 2024, the number of new ESG related jobs posted observed a negative growth rate of 2.65%, the number of active ESG related job postings observed a negative growth rate of 7.25% and the number of ESG related jobs closed observed a growth rate of 10.09%. Between October 2023 and January 2024, the average number of ESG related jobs posted stood at 906, the average number of ESG related jobs closed stood at 1,068 and the average number of active ESG related jobs stood at 2,702.
